He studied privately with academic painters such as Bohumír Matal, Bohdan Lacina, and artistic smithery with professor Kneiff, the art of restoration with Dr.Böhmová. He worked from 1965 as a free-lance painter and graphic artist.
After the year 1989, he also devoted himself to the art of restoration of paintings, as well as painting, drawing and designing his own work.
In the year 2000 he was nominated for the Prize of the Town of Brno.
